Retail Copies of Modern Warfare 3 Stolen… Again
Every year Activision has to deal with protecting their highly valued Call of Duty title and 3 years in a row now they failed to do it to some degree. Last year multiple retail copies of Black Ops were stolen and a year before that the same happened with Modern Warfare 2.
This year Activision once again failed at preventing their Call of Duty title from being stolen. Venturebeat reports a second of a DVD two-set comprising the PC version of Modern Warfare 3 has been stolen by an employee at a shipping warehouse in California and leaked to torrent sites. Why someone would download 1 of 2 discs is beyond us, especially the second disc, but there are people who feel the need to download it.
To make matters worse for Activision, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Modern Warfare 3 have been stolen as well and every day more and more videos make their way to video sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
For years now Activision has been dealing with the theft of their titles and the thieves who steal them and there are times the culprits get caught. To prevent getting caught or having your YouTube account banned, stay away from any copies of the game and uploading videos with footage of it. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Do the right thing and sit tight: Modern Warfare 3 is out November 8.
