Modern Warfare 3 to be Announced in April
I’d say it’s about time we got solid news about the next Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3, but who am I kidding? It’s not even April yet and we already know quite a bit about Modern Warfare 3.
Take the game engine for example. We know Modern Warfare 3 will be using a (heavily) modified Infinity Ward version 4.0 engine that was used for Modern Warfare 2. We also know which companies will be developing Modern Warfare 3. Those companies being Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.
Or what about the storyline. We wrote that Ghost would have a lead role. While it may not be a lead role, PSM3 magazine writes Modern Warfare 3’s story will be linking back to the past of Ghost. PSM3 magazine also writes: “Based on the ending of MW2, we’d be surprised if the story doesn’t pick up with Soap and Price on the run, after they were set up by General Shepherd.” (Damn PSM3 magazine, I got my hands on a copy of the April release, skimmed through it but couldn’t the quotes written at GVC)
Now we can add the approximate date of Modern Warfare 3’s announcement to the list of things we know. According to PSM3 magazine, “the next in Activision’s megaton FPS series will be announced in mid-April“. Unfortunately it says mid-April, meaning we don’t have an exact date for now. But at this rate, it shouldn’t be too long before an exact date is released.
If there is 1 thing I’m excited about, it’s the confirmation that the next Call of Duty will be Modern Warfare 3. I know this was pretty much confirmed, but seeing it written in black and white is just something else.
