Modern Warfare 3 to Have Dedicated Servers on PC

One of the features most PC users were hoping the PC version of Modern Warfare 3 would have, were dedicated servers. Some of you might remember the controversy caused by announcement that Modern Warfare 2 would not have dedicated servers on PC.

The same won’t be happening this year as today at Gamescom, Activision announced that it will support dedicated servers on the PC version of Modern Warfare 3, despite ongoing concerns about how they can be used to cheat online.

The support for dedicated serves has been confirmed by Robert Bowling.

Yes! Modern Warfare 3 on PC will support dedicated servers, day 1. You can fav or admin your own to control setup, rules, bans. #MW3 #PC

So, yeah, Modern Warfare 3 will offer support for dedicated servers and allow for gamers to return to the much more familiar method of finding a relative lag-free game. Hopefully it doesn’t lead to a major influx of cheaters, especially with Call of Duty Elite preparing to hand out real-life prizes for in-game performance, giving cheaters all the more incentive to not play it straight
