Modern Warfare 3 Map Packs

Starting with Modern Warfare 3, the map packs as we know it will be history. Activision has introduced a new distribution model for the downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty Elite being the main reason for this. Long story short, rather than only releasing 3-4 map packs for a title, Activision will be releasing monthly downloadable content (called Content Drops) on top of the map packs. The monthly Content Drops will only be available to Premium Elite subscribers.

Modern Warfare 3 will see 24 Content Drops combined into 4 map packs. The first map pack for Modern Warfare 3 consists of 6 Content Drops:

1. Liberation (Multiplayer / Survival Mode map)
2. Piazza (Multiplayer / Survival Mode map)
3. Overwatch (Multiplayer / Survival Mode map)
4. Black Box (Multiplayer / Survival Mode map)
5. Black Ice (Special Ops mission)
6. Negotiator (Special Ops mission)
