Three Perk Adjustments Made For Black Ops



Modern Warfare 2 is known for its humongous popularity. It had record breaking sales numbers. It is registered in the Guinness World Records and the accolades go on and on.

But this doesn’t mean that Modern Warfare 2 did not have its flaws. If it hadn’t, it would be the perfect game and I doubt a perfect game exists (yet!).

Some of the flaws Modern Warfare 2 had, at least in my opinion, were in the perk section of the game. And like me, Treyarch agreed on some of the flaws and made adjustments to them.

1. Tactical Insertion

Treyarch has made two adjustments to the Tactical Insertion perk.

  1. You now have the option to cancel your Tactical Insertion perk during the Killcam. This is especially useful when your Tactical Insertion is being camped by someone and you want to prevent dieing the moment you respawn.
  2. More important change to the Tactical Insertion perk, is that the perk has been disabled in the Free-For-All  game mode [hardcore and core variants]. This is good news for the people who disliked the idea of people “boosting” during the Free-For-All matches. By disabling the Tactical Insertion perk, people can no longer “boost” in Free-For-All matches. However, the Tactical Insertion perk can be used in other game modes.

2. Sleight of Hand

Treyarch has removed the option to use the Sleight of Hand perk while having a Sniper Rifle selected as your primary weapon. Personally, I’m pleased with this decision. One of the most disturbing issues I had with Modern Warfare 2, were people using the Sleight of Hand perk while having a Sniper Rifle as their primary gun.

Having this setup would allow them to run around with a Sniper Rifle and use it like any other gun, disregarding the fact that it’s a Sniper Rifle. By removing the Sleight of Hand + Sniper Rifle combination, people will be forced to use the Sniper Rifles as they are intended to.

3. No Stopping Power, Commando, One Man Army or No Danger Close

This is a list of little adjustments made to the perks in Modern Warfare 2. Obviously this decision could either make you happy or unhappy.

I for one am not too worried about the removal of the Stopping Power, One Man Army and Danger Close perk. I’m sure Treyarch has his reasons for removing these perks.

However, I am happy about the removal of the Commando perk. This means no more killing people with your knife from miles away. Yes this is a little exaggerated, but you get the idea.

So, there are the three adjustments made to the perks for the upcoming Black Ops. I know this article has personal views in it and this is done on purpose.
