Thoughts on this? About the launch of Black Ops 2...

I'm doing a project on CoD and I have to talk about the (awesome, hilarious, bad, good, whatever) effects it has on peoples' lives. Like pre-launch, day of, post-launch, etc. Beside the obvious of having girlfriends be annoyed and taking days off of work/school, etc, what else do you guys experience once it's COD time?

Since I'm not only a gamer, but also an administrator/editor, the effect Call of Duty games have on me is a bit different than just gamers.

Pre-launch: A lot of research. Scouring the internet for news/leaks/glitches/info and whatnot to write about. Consumes quite some time now that I think of it.
Launch day: Gamiiiiiiing, a lot. Neglecting the daily duties more often, not being available for friends and family.
Post-launch: The same as pre-launch

In short, because of Call of Duty titles, I get to spend less time on/with stuff that matters.

I work in the casino business and don't always get two days off like normal people. Because of my crazy schedule, I requested a week off work to play the new game. I had to request it 7 months in advance lol.

Have you guys heard of things that've happened with other people? Like getting their girlfriends spa gifts or like ordering delivery food for days or anything? Just trying to see how else it affects peoples' lives.

I had a week booked off work, but ended up in a car accident. So that ruined my week of CoD. ;P

Well I like to know information before release because it becomes interesting i guess, being a COD fan since the very first COD and seeing how well it has developed. When it comes to release, oh yeah I play a lot but if I have other things to do I gotta do them first because other wise i'll never do it. I was lucky with my girlfriend because she liked COD as well

lol what do you mean having an effect on your girlfriend. Most the time they wont have a girlfriend.
