I came across this video of TmarTn and had to agree with some of the things he's saying in it.
I especially have to agree with what he's saying about the Support Strike Package. Rewarding supportive / objective based players is the right thing to do but, I don't think Infinity Ward executed it the correct way. Bad players get access to killstreaks they should never have gotten access to. Dying a million times and still get an EMP? That's not how it's supposed to work. Rewarding objective based players extra points for doing the objective, that's how it should be.
I've got to disagree with combining the Assault and Support Strike Package though. Depending on how you look at it, that would give you the option to pick from roughly 25 killstreaks. A number which is waaay too high in my opinion. Knowing Treyarch, we won't see 3 different Strike Packages, instead we'll see the good old killstreak system used in Black Ops.
Combine the Black Ops killstreak system with added points for being an objective based player and you're headed in the right direction. Perhaps even add the Specialist Strike Package from Modern Warfare 3 into the mix. People seem to love running around feeling like they're Rambo on steroids.
-Will follow from Modern Warfare 3’s system
-Larger emphasis on objectives
-A bomb plant is worth 2 points
-A neutral flag is worth 1, however an enemy flag is worth 2
-A flag assist capture is worth 1, a capture is worth 2
-The Specialist Pointstreak has be modified
-2 kills now gets you 1 perk
-The 4th kill gets you 2 more perks
-The 6th kill gets you 3 more perks
-The 8th Kill gets you 4 more perks
-You do not get every perk when you reach 8 kills
-Perks only become “Pro” when you have them Pro
-RC XD will not return
