Yes the heading is indeed Correct. A teenage boy was playing his daily game of Black Ops on his Xbox Monday evening, when he received a message from an unknown user saying he has hacked the teenager and has called a SWAT team to his front yard.

The boy, who has not been named from request of his parents, told news giant CBS:

Some dude just popped out of nowhere, and basically said he’s going to hack me, he’s going to get my information, call the swat team over to my front yard.

The teenager ignored the message like any other, that was until 20 minutes later a squad of highly trained policemen showed up on his front lawn, geared and ready to go, shouting the boy’s name from a bullhorn.

According to the interview the family gave to CBS, the family hid in the closet and rang 911, the operator told the traumatised family to go outside as the police were notified of the situation. The boy told CBS:

We were all scared, out of our minds. Didn’t understand why they were here. We thought there was some stranger some dude running around our house, hiding behind the boat. We didn’t know. We didn’t expect nothing.

So how did this rogue Xbox user hack the young boy from Lewisville, Texas? It seems that the police were given false information that someone had been shot. The caller was able to mask his identity because he used an AT&T Instant Message Relay Service, a service that helps the hearing impaired with standard telephones, smart way to cover your tracks.

How the Hacker got the family’s address is still unclear, but police are on the lookout for the culprit.
