Autumn can’t come soon enough, news has broke from Sony headquarters that multi million selling franchise ‘Call of Duty’ will be released on the PlayStation Vita later in the year.
A recent interview with Sony’s SVP of brand marketing for PlayStation, Guy Longworth, let slip that the first person shooter will be making it’s way to the Vita this year.
During the video interview with gaming website GameTrailers, Longworth stated he was delighted Call of Duty was making it’s way to the Sony’s handheld device and that it will be a “gamechanger”. The host of the show, Geoff Keighley, asked Longworth to clarify,
So Call of Duty will be coming out in the Fall for Vita?
Longworth without hesitation, giving the thumbs up.
Giving the quite poor sales record Vita is seeing thus far, this might be the right direction Sony need to take. With other big games like Uncharted not making the gaming public jump on the Vita, Call of Duty might bring some extra attention to the handheld when it’s released in the UK this week. One might be hesitant as Activision have not yet confirmed the game’s existence.
With Black Ops 2 listing appearing on Amazon, maybe this is the game that is causing the internet fuss, which has one website blacklisted by Activision for not taking down the leak from their website. Either way it’s starting to heat up with speculation on what title and when the next Call of Duty game will be announced.
