Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Revolution Recap
In just a few short hours, we can all get our hands on the highly anticipated release for Treyarch’s Call of Duty. This time, it’s going to be Black Ops 2: Revolution. This will be the first massive DLC upgrade to the game. Players around the globe have been clamoring for the content ever since word of it first leaked. But, what makes it so awesome? While time will surely tell, the devs have never really let the Call of Duty fan base down. Here’s what they have in store for us January 29th, 2013.
- Four brand new multi-player maps
- A new multi-player weapon
- A whole new Zombie mode
- A new Zombie map
Expectations have been growing as more and more news has filtered out over the past few weeks, and we at Call of Duty Community have done our best to keep you apprised of the situation. Now, even more news has hit the web, so we’re here to mix that in with a reminder of why at least some of us may be calling in sick to school or work tomorrow.
How about those new maps for Black Ops 2 Revolution?
We’ve got Hydro—battling it out in a dam in Pakistan. Oh, and look out for flood, which—if you get caught in it—you’re out!
Then, we have the Grind. This one is pretty neat. It is a map entirely comprised of half pipes and ramps, a SoCal Skate Park that would make Tony Hawk jealous…as long as he doesn’t mind explosives and high powered gunfire.
How about Downhill? Finally, we get the return of arctic environments for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 multi-player. Lots of open space with long range sighting and even make use of the gondolas cutting through the map.
The Mirage is a desert environment, essentially the Gobi Desert. You have sand dunes to hide behind or gain some altitude on your opponents.
Die Rise is a Zombie map that is set in the Far East. This is pretty neat, because it brings some newer features forward and presents its own unique challenges where you have both wide open spaces and very narrow, dark corridors.
And, do not forget to check out Turned. This is honestly probably my first stop tomorrow. This is the first time Treyarch has added a brand new game mode with DLC and this one is pretty awesome. It lets you play as the zombies in Black Ops 2. Check out what happens if you get the single human on the map, too. Sweet!
Another first for the Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC is a brand new weapon—the Peacekeeper. It is described as a hybrid between an SMG and assault rifle.
You can get Black Ops 2 Revolution as part of a season pass or as a standalone map pack for just $10. All that fun packed into one download. You know what that means? I should take a nap, because that DLC should be hitting in the next 8 hours or so. Hooyah!
