An Annual Call of Duty Game – Wise or Not?
Whether we love or hate the Call of Duty franchise, everybody has his or her opinion about the annual release of a Call of Duty game.
Some think it’s smart because Activision rakes in huge sums of money. Both Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops managed to earn Activision over a billion $. With an annual Call of Duty game you, the Call of Duty geek, get to play a new game without getting bored with the franchise.
Others think it isn’t a wise move because, let’s face it, had Treyarch a bit more time to develop Black Ops, they’d manage to develop a better game for all consoles. While some people want to play the next Call of Duty game, no matter who developed it or what’s new with the game, others prefer to stick with a game. And when people stick to a game, they want to play a game with a few bugs as possible and pushing developers to develop an annual Call of Duty game usually doesn’t result in a bug free game.
These are just some thoughts why an annual Call of Duty game is wise or not. If you want to read bigger article with more arguments why an annual Call of Duty game is wise or not, I’d suggest you read the Smart or Stupid: Activision Releasing a CoD Every Year article on DualShockers.com. It’s been written by one of our regular writers, Kyle Durant, and I’ve got to say, it’s an interesting article.
