Josh Olin: No Black Ops Beta
Don’t hold your breath if you are one of the many people waiting for a Call of Duty: Black Ops Beta, because it’s not happening.
If you don’t believe me, believe Josh Olin (Trayarch’s community manager). Not so long ago he tweeted that there is no such things as a Black Ops beta.
You might wonder why you saw the ads, and that’s easy to explain. Call of Duty is one of the bigger franchises in the gaming industry and it comes as no surprise that even if there isn’t a beta, some dodgy advertisers would try to bring traffic through their site by promising one.
An thorough search through Josh Olin’s tweets leaves little promise of a beta for Call of Duty Black Ops. Then again, with a release date set for November 9, 2010 there wouldn’t be much time to test make changes, and implement before the launch. Given that the last version of Call of Duty sold over a hundred million dollars worth of copies in the first day alone, Treyarch is going to have to seriously stock up on these hot items.
