Call of Duty: Black Ops GAME British Academy Video Game Awards

Black Ops Wins BAFTA Game Award of 2010



The 2011 BAFTA Video Games Awards, hosted by Irish comic Dara O’Briain, has just come to an end and as many had predicted, Call of Duty: Black Ops has won the only public-voted category with over 110,000 consumers casting their votes.

Though Call of Duty: Black Ops won the only public-voted category, it’s not considered the “winner of the night”. That award went to Heavy Rain, which won 3 awards.

The full list of winners looks like this:

  • Action – Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Family – Kinect Sports
  • Techinical Innovation – Heavy Rain
  • Social Network Game – My Empire
  • Use of Audio – Battlefield: Bad Company 2
  • Handheld – Cut the rope
  • GAME Award – Call of Duty: Black-Ops
  • Orginal Music – Heavy Rain
  • Strategy – Civilization V
  • Artistic Achievement – God of War III
  • BAFTA Ones to Watch – Twang! (Editors note: This game was developed in only 6 weeks!)
  • Gameplay – Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Sports – F1 2010
  • Multiplayer – Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
  • Story – Heavy Rain
  • Best Game – Mass Effect 2
  • BAFTA Fellowship – Peter Molyneux
