Black Ops 1 of 11 Most Disappointing Games of 2010
When it comes to the Call of Duty franchise, you’ll always have lovers and haters. Each group will have their reasons to love or hate. But in general we all can agree that Black Ops hasn’t lived up to expectations we had. And it looks like the South African gaming community website, MyGaming, agrees with us and even goes a step further because they included Call of Duty: Black Ops in the list of 11 Most Disappointing Games of 2010. Another big gaming website, GamesRader, didn’t include Black Ops in the list of most disappointing games of 2010.
MyGaming writes: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is probably the most successful online FPS ever released, if we combine its critical acclaim with its impressive sales stats. Since then, Activision has given us Modern Warfare 2, which was mildly disappointing, but not a total disaster.
Black Ops was expected to fix the biggest problem with its predecessor; the PC version’s lack of dedicated servers. Unfortunately, it was released broken, and millions of gamers have complained about lag, frame rate issuess, and general buginess. After numerous patches, the game is still not running as smoothly as it should be, and many have abandoned it all together.
For me it sounds a bit over the top and exaggerated. But in all fairness, we have to respect the views and opinions of others.
What I would like to know is, do you agree with MyGaming and do you think Black Ops should be included in the list of the 11 most disappointing games of 2010? Let us know in a comment or forum post!
