Black Ops Played With Body Movement
We know how difficult it can be to play Call of Duty: Black Ops or any other first-person shooter with a controller or keyboard and mouse. Imagine how difficult it would be to play with body movement.
YouTube user demize2010 gave it a try and the result speaks for itself. With a hack he made it so that he can play Call of Duty: Black Ops with the Microsoft Kinect motion controller, Nintendo Wii Remote and Nunchuck while the game runs on Windows 7. An impressive feat is you ask me.
When all these elements are combined, you get to play Call of Duty: Black Ops with body movement. More specifically, Microsoft Kinect allows for leaning, ducking, picking up, reloading, weapon changing, jumping, and stabbing. The Nunchuk is used for basic movement like walking around and the Wii Remote allows for precision aiming and gun firing.
After you watch the video you’ll see that this method of playing is anything but perfect. But it gives you a general idea of what is possible. It also shows what you can expect from games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops (first-person shooters) in the future.
What I’d like to know is what you think about all of this. Do you think this will be a viable way of playing first-person shooters?
