Black Ops 2 Voice Actors Honor Military On USO Tour
While we’ve been sitting down comfy in our chairs taking down noobs in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the voice actors behind the single-player’s iconic characters are currently aboard the USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour which honors the Armed Forces doing the real battling overseas and at home.
Three of the game’s biggest stars are currently taking part, with Kamar de los Reyes, known for his role as super villain Raul Menendez, James Burns who voices Black Ops veteran Sgt. Frank Woods and Rich McDonald, who lends his talents for Commander David Mason. The tour started on January 28th and will finish up on February 4th, during which the stars will play games of Black Ops 2 against troops at each base.
“We play at war on the safety of our sound stages, with imaginary weapons and pretend enemies. These men and women face the real thing every day, we want to honor that fact and give the real heroes the attention they deserve,” said de los Reyes, who is currently in his third USO tour. “I’ve always been humbled by the sacrifice our military and their families make every day to ensure our freedoms. I can’t wait to look these men and women in the eye and express to them in person how much we appreciate their service. It’s an honor that leaves me speechless.”
It’s not just the stars Activision have kindly sent over, the publisher has also sent multiple bases and hospitals free copies of Black Ops 2, which included the Royal Air Force Lakenheath in the United Kingdom and the USO Warrior Center at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
Another gold star for Activision and their continued support for the troops, they get one Hoorah from us anyway! Make sure to leave any thoughts you have in the comment section below comrades.
