Black Ops 2 Grossed $1 Billion in 15 Days
While analysis predict a bleak future for the Call of Duty franchise with declining sales numbers, the opposite happened and Call of Duty broke yet another record.
Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has crossed the $1 billion mark in worldwide retail sales. This task was accomplished in 15 days following launch. Last year’s Call of Duty release, Modern Warfare 3, reached $1 billion in retail sales in 16 days.
We know Black Ops 2 is dealing with issues right now, but doesn’t stop me from playing the game. And it looks like you aren’t bothered with it as much either since more than 150 million hours have been logged online playing Black Ops 2 on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network since Black Ops 2‘s launch on November 13th.
Did you expect Black Ops 2 to sell this many copies even with the complaints about the game?
